In 2008, following the acquisition of ICI, we outlined a strategic vision to become the world’s leading Coatings and Specialty Chemicals company. We also defined both value and values ambitions to support this overall vision, which are shown on this page. These defined what we meant by leadership in value and values during a time when internally we were integrating ICI, and externally the market environment was uncertain at best.
Now that the market environment is improving, and we have completed the ICI integration, we have defined a new set of medium-term strategic ambitions, appropriate for the next chapter of our leadership story. These ambitions were announced in September 2010 and will form the basis for our reporting going forward. They are strongly oriented towards profitable growth and are outlined below.
